As Leverhulme artist in residence, I spent one year embedded in the Geography Department at the University of Sheffield, working with the ice scientists on their research into the cryosphere. I also spent last summer on field research with them in Svalbard, in the High Arctic.

ice report looks at the links between Sheffield and Svalbard and investigates the, often opposing, man-made interventions present in the ice fields of the High Arctic.



Naomi Hart is the Leverhulme Trust artist in residence at Sheffield University Geography Department for 2017/18.  She is working with the ice scientists and this website will show work in progress during the residency.  Naomi spent August in Svalbard in the field with the students and staff on the Polar and Alpine Change Masters and will be working in the department at Sheffield for the rest of the residency.
